I have been a Netflix client for about 4 years now and have really enjoyed my service. When the first price increase came along it was $1 and I said .....Okay. When the second came and it was like $6 I called and asked WTH? I got a very nice person who explained to me that many of the companies that Netflix has to pay a fee to for having their movies available had increased their $ by a lot and I still said ....Eh, I understand.
BUT when I heard on Yahoo! news instead of getting an email in my inbow that Netflix was splitting into 2 companies, that I would have to visit 2 seperate websites to get my DVD's and stream and that it will still be MONTHS before the streaming movies are updated with new selections....I cut the cord!
Now, I am still paying for streaming which I use several times a week, but my family has really slacked off on the DVD's during the past year. Never made a difference until the price increase which goes into effect this month. It is my hope that the selection of streaming movies does increase because as of now I have to bounce between Netflix and Hulu to get what I want. Adding a third site just seemed a bit much to me.
So, Mr. CEO, while I appreciate the appology and the sudo explination about what I already knew was happening, you will have to be content with only getting 1/2 the money from me that you would have if you had kept these 2 services together.
Am I being a bitch? Maybe but that is my right :)
